Cruise Ship Asuka II at Yokohama

Gorgeous cruise ship docks at Osanbashi Pier

Asuka II is the biggest cruise ship in Japan that is registered in Yokohama. It provides luxurious service, but the price is quite high: A short cruise (2 nights 3 days) costs from 50,000 yen to 500,000 yen per person, a middle length cruise up to 2 weeks is between 300,000 yen-2,800,000 yen, and a world tour for 100 days costs 4,200,000 yen-26,000,000 yen! But here’s some good news—no tipping is necessary! They provide exquisite service with one staff to every two guests, and all the rooms have ocean views, bathtubs, and washlet toilets!

Asuka II docks at Yokohama Port more than 30 times a year. On days that the ship is scheduled to arrive at Osanbashi Pier, huge numbers of people come to see this beautiful liner. I was also waiting for Asuka II at the pier, on a day in mid September, and enjoyed watching captain, crewmen, and other ground staff working on the ship.
