Toyama/Gifu Fair at Futako-Tamagawa

Food, products and performances

The Toyama and Gifu food/product fair was held at Futako-Tamagawa's RISE complex back on November 21st–22nd 2015. Check out this interesting musical performance, which accompanied the main event throughout the day.

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the World Heritage registration of Shirakawa-go's Mt Goka thatched roof house village, Gifu and Toyama prefectures co-operated to deliver this exciting food and product fair in Tokyo's upscale residential/retail neighbourhood of Futako-Tamagawa.

Visitors could enjoy performances on the traditional arts stage, including a Gifu/Kidani, Shirakawa-mura lion dance and Ecchu Mt Goka Japanese maraca performance (kokiriko).

Also on offer were special product sales and several craft experiences to try (e.g. handmade coasters with experts from Hida's Takumi Cultural Centre), miniature thatched roof housing displays and photographic displays, and a wide range of gourmet products to sample from both prefectures including black ramen, prawn tempura, local sakes and fish products, Gifu-style curry, Takayama ramen, Kurikinton/candied chestnuts and Hida-gyu beef.
