Japanese Garden Rakusui-en, Hakata

What a hidden gem in Fukuoka city!

It was a rainy day and we had the garden all to ourselves. I loved it. It was like being in our own private garden, with all the characteristics of a typical Japanese garden, like a stream, a pond with koi carp, a little bridge across the pond and a perfect selection and composition of trees and other plants, and a tea house of course (although this can be used by appointment only). Don't miss this little garden, the entrance is a little hidden in a side street behind Sumiyoshi Shrine.
