Against a cloudless blue sky the view is amazing

Even squinting at the sun through the trees is a beautiful sight.

These trees are rather tall and their branches spread out to make a wonderful cover of blossoms.

Any spot you choose will give you a view of the blossoms. This was my view when I was lying down on the picnic blanket.

Mark your spot and enjoy a leisurely stroll.

There are lots of trees in this park, and a huge open area in the middle where one can engage in one sport or the next.

Some of the trees here are very tall indeed.

Even though there are no leaves, the sprawling branches provide sufficient shelter for those who don't want to feel the brunt of the spring sun.

The hanami (flower viewing) forecast for Sendai states that it will begin on April 12th, but the best time for viewing will be from April 17th to 25th. Whether or not you are accustomed to hanami, one thing to always keep in mind is that it is a fleeting time. The blossoms do not last very long. Consequently, to ensure you hit as many spots as possible, proper planning is a must.

Mikamine Park is one of the popular spots in Sendai that I also highly recommend. It is a great spot for hanami and a picnic. There is also an open area that is excellent for games. So pack your coolers, organize your food and get there early to claim your spot!

Thanks Daniel! Yes, there are quite a few lovely spots in and around Sendai which I will be sharing in the coming weeks. There are the popular spots which are usually quite crowded, but I also fund a couple that aren't so well-known to people who don't venture to those areas ^__^
