I love aquariums. There is something very absorbing and tranquil about going into a very dark space for long stretches of time submerged in a dim blue glow. The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan by Osaka Bay is a local favorite. With a central tank that extends vertically connecting the upper levels of this eight storey complex, the unique design provides an unobstructed view of the aquarium no matter where you are. When in doubt on a rainy day, the Kaiyukan Aquarium will make a great indoor option.
Don’t forget to pick up an Osaka Kaiyu Ticket. At 2,550 yen each, the pass includes entry to Kaiyukan and unlimited transit within Osaka City for the day.
