Nikko's Taiyu-in Temple/Mausoleum

The beauty of religion in nature

Taiyu-in is the mausoleum for the third Tokugawa shogun, Iemitsu (1623-1651). But what attracted me most of all is its location: Situated amongst hundreds of tall, old beautiful cedar trees, it is a place of rare splendor.
