Shibuya, Land of the Youth

The place to go if you are young or young at heart

Shibuya (Shibuya-ku) is one of 23 special wards of Tokyo. It is always a really crowded place with youngsters and adults in their 20's and 30's. There are several famous shops highlighting youth fashion and culture.

One of the best known stories concerning Shibuya is the story of Hachiko, the dog who waited on his late master at Shibuya Station everyday from 1923 to 1935, eventually becoming a national celebrity for his loyalty. A statute of Hachiko Square is now the most popular meeting point in the area. Until now Hachiko Square is famous for a point place for everyone. Shibuya is also famous for its crazy zebra crosswalk. Many tourist love to stop and take a photo of the endless crowds crossing.
