Feel a Peaceful Moment at Myohon-ji

One of the quietest temples in Kamakura

When I visit Myohon-ji Temple, I become calm and I feel relaxed. After a busy day at work, I sometimes come here in the early evening and listen to the rustling of the leaves and the birds calling from the deep forest. It anchors falls my heart to the solid earth and makes me comfortable.

The other day was the first time that I visited Myohon-ji in the daytime. The flower of the cherry tree and crabapple tree were in full bloom. And it was a pretty beautiful day. The temple's head priest was writing out Chinese characters on a big stupa (wooden board) at the side of the main hall. I took a video of him doing this, and politely asked for some words from him. He gently replied that he is trying to make this temple a place where people feel nice and comfortable, and get energy for their lives.

The sakura season is so beautiful, but unfortunately it is too short. Never have enough time to visit such places! Thanks!

That's a wonderful aim isn't it? To create beauty that gives people energy for their lives. I'm grateful.
