Listed as a World Heritage Site in 2011, the Ogasawara Islands are a cluster of 30 Islands, mostly uninhabited. The islands can only be reached via ferry from Tokyo Bay, and the trip takes around 25 hours in good weather. Once you have made it you can go whale watching, diving and swimming with dogtooth tunas, greater amberjacks, manta rays and colorful tropical fishes in the crystal clear sea of Ogasawara. And if you are lucky you can also swim with dolphins when they are spotted, a truly out of this world experience!
