Although the name suggests an underground vibe, don't be misled. At this club, the ritz certainly beats the rave. Grey Goose outnumbers glowsticks and most bracelets don't glow—they're VIP instead. That being said, you can still expect to hear high quality dance music with professional sound.

Pros

The volume and bass are at a good level. The main dance floor also has plenty of space for you to mingle or limb fling. Ear plugs aren't necessary.

The club is really fashionable and has some nice decor. The main bar is really cool: it's circular (with complementary dance poles) and it's really easy to be sociable as you are waiting for your drink. There's also a multitude of nice lounge seats. These are great when you meet that special someone on the dance floor and you want to relax for a minute (or two)...

The monthly TURNED ON events here are great. Usually they are all-white parties and have a great mix of foreigners and Japanese. Electro and progressive house is the primary form of music played at these parties.

Cons

Pretentiousness. There is a VIP section that is above the floor and the people inside are not visible to those below. This can be fixed with a "simple" VIP payment. Also, sometimes those sexy red seats are off-limits to non-VIP customers. This is, in a word, lame.

Unnecessary lines. I've waited in a line for 20 minutes (at an early time around 12:30 am), only to enter and the club be half empty. Photographers took pictures of this "long wait", which led me to believe it was a stunt for image, not necessity.

A lack of music variety. One dance floor means One style of music at a time. And with no second or separated lounge, you are stuck with the sound of whatever DJ is playing. More often than not, I've found myself bored when the music stops matching my tastes. And with no re-entry, I begin to feel trapped. Perhaps you can amend this with a VIP payment though...

Relative isolation from other nightlife. It's a ten-minute walk from Roppongi. This means a late night cab or bit of a walk to try other places.

Overall

I've had a great time at the Turned On events at this club, but even they go stale because of the limited musical variety (one floor of music). With so many options in Tokyo, this club is really only worth it if you plan ahead and know what you want. For a tourist with limited time, this club might not be your best option.
