When I have spare time, I like to walk. I explore different directions starting from Yotsuya station. This time it's the Kanda river, which flows into the Sumida river, and was formed around the Edo period. It feeds the ponds of Koishikawa Korakuen garden. While admiring the nature, you can see many birds and trees. Sakura blossoms here in spring (by the way, every tree is numbered), and crowds of people will come to have hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties. In the meantime, only a cold winter wind and often passing trains disturb the occasional fishermen at "Ichigaya fish center". After passing Ichigaya station, I head to Iidabashi. The colorful boats have a caretaker: a big cormorant. The last stop is a half-empty cafe, "Canal", and its boutique.
