Now running for 25 years, the Atsumi Peninsula Nanohana Festival celebrates the vibrant yellow of these springtime flowers. The event takes place at the Irago Nanohana Garden, where visitors can enjoy 25 hectares of nanohana that spread out like a golden carpet.
Attendees have the opportunity to stroll through the flower fields, pick bundles of nanohana for a small additional fee of ¥ 100, or try local eats such as nanohana gelato. There will also be some great photo spots set up where you can take some ultra-picturesque snaps.
Depending on the time of your visit, it's possible to enjoy early-blooming cherry blossoms as well - plan for late February to early March if you'd like to appreciate the soft pinks with the vivid yellows.
