There are basically three types of massage places. One is very high-end spas with strict appointments. The other are Japanese chains like TeMomi, has a colorful hand logo. I found them to be excellent and not so expensive. The third are cheap Chinese massage places. At 2,980 in Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, it's a great deal and they usually know what they are doing. But it's sometimes not as clean as Japanese places.
