How do we get from the port in Shinjuku to the Shinjuku Park

Asked by Pat Kirkham · 7 months ago

We have a day in Shinjuku from a cruise ship and would like to visit the Shinjuku Park.  Can anyone give us details of what public transport options there are.  We are in port from 8am and have to be back onboard by 4pm.

Do we have enough time to do this visit, and are the bus/trains frequent?

Manythanks to anyone who can help.

Hi. It will depend on which port you are docking. But assuming your docking at the Tokyo Port, the fastest way will take you at least an hour by train to get to the Shinjuku Park. You can also opt to ride a bus but it will consume much of your time nearing 2 hours at the least. However, if you enough money to grab a taxi (though quite expensive), you may do so, and it will only take you around 12 minutes to get to Shinjuku park.

  • Pat Kirkham: Sorry I should have said Yokohama Port....my mistake (Reply)
    • Caleb Cello: Hi Pat, if you're coming from Yokohama Port, then you can reach Shinjuku Park by train approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. You may also take the bus but will take you roughly 2 hours. But as I said before if you have enough budget then you may take the taxi which will get you there for approx. 30 minutes. This will save you a lot of time if it helps.
