It was my first day in Tokyo. I went around Shinjuku as I was staying in Hatagaya. I had no idea what I would come across except that I wanted to see the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. I was surprised to come across Hanazono Shrine in the middle of Shinjuku and by the size of the garden. I must have spent nearly 2 hours walking around the green oasis. Like Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, the Government building had a great observation deck and it was free as well.
