Hard Rock Cafe Tokyo

Rock 'n' roll dining in Roppongi

Discover the true spirit of rock 'n' roll at the Hard Rock Cafe, Roppongi, one of six branch locations across Japan. As you'd expect with such a heritage from this unique rock music institution, rock 'n' roll memorabilia adorns the walls whilst diners enjoy a menu of delectable American-style dishes, set to a rock soundtrack.

History of Hard Rock Cafe Tokyo

Opened back in 1983, Hard Rock Cafe Roppongi became only the 4th chain to open in the company's plan for global expansion, an empire which now extends to almost 200 locations worldwide.

Memorabilia-wise, expect to see some legendary pieces of history on display. From a gold lamé braided necklace worn by Jimi Hendrix, a dress signed "Marilyn from Cynthia Lennon" (John's first wife) and by all the Beatles, a famous "Victory" tour jacket owned by Randy Jackson and signed by both Randy and Michael Jackson, a Japanese bowling shirt worn by Freddie Mercury, shoes worn by Elton John, a cream silk brocade suit worn by Prince and a whole lot more!

This tradition dates back to 1979 when Eric Clapton, a regular at the first location in Piccadilly, London, donated his Red Fender Lead II, instructing management to hang it over his favourite bar stool who happily obliged. "Mine's as good as his! Love, Pete." — this was the note attached to Pete Townshend's guitar (The Who) sent a week later, which joined the collection and started the trend, which has since grown into one of the largest rock and roll memorabilia collections in the world.

The Hard Rock Menu

American favourites take centre stage here, so expect hamburgers, steaks, BBQ, sandwiches as well as salads, sides and a lot more. A vast selection of 'Legendary Burgers' are available. A special 'Spamalot' burger, the Legendary Spam & Egg Burger, available until March 15th (can we say Monty Python Burger?).

A merchandise shop is located on-site, selling T-shirts, hoodies and more collectibles.

Getting there

Three minute walk from Roppongi Station, Exit 3.
