The Taiwan Festa at Yoyogi Park is an annual event that has been running since 2016, and it originally started as a way to strengthen the relationship between Japan and Taiwan. The event has drawn in visitor numbers of up to 150,000 in previous years, and the festival includes various booths related to Taiwanese culture, gastronomy, tourism, and more.

Attendees can enjoy live music and dance performances, taste test foodie favorites like xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and bubble tea, and purchase a variety of different Taiwanese souvenirs.

Admission to the event itself is free, but do bring some yen if you plan on grabbing a bite to eat or picking up some souvenirs.

Getting there

Yoyogi Park can be accessed within five minutes on foot from Harajuku Station, which is served by the JR Yamanote Line. Other train stations in close walking distance include the Tokyo Metro's Meijijingumae and Yoyogi-Koen Stations.

Sometimes I wonder if Yoyogi Park isn't international central. The number of multicultural events there is impressive.

It seems like a lot of festivals that were on hiatus the last couple of years are back in action for 2022, it's good to see! I bet the Jamaican food was delicious!
