The other day I went to Sabae City to see carp streamers swimming over a small river which is lined with pretty cherry trees. The carp streamers were looking happy, fluttering in the strong wind with pretty trees adorned in pink for spectators. I also found elegant daffodils in full bloom along the riverbank. The daffodil is a prefectural flower of Fukui, and they are ubiquitous throughout Fukui at this time of the year. As modest as they are, the elegant yellow daffodils added beauty to the whole scene of colorful carp streamers, pale pink cherry blossoms and fresh greenery on the riverbank!
