Daienji Temple

A beautiful little temple with tiny stone statues

Prayers/wishes were left hanging by the visitors

A small wooden plaque where worshippers write their prayers or wishes

Light and burn sticks of incense to pray

If you happen to visit the Meguro area, don’t forget to also visit Daienji Temple. It is located in a narrow street and it only takes five minutes of walking from the Meguro Station. As you enter the temple, you will immediately see a tall Buddha sculpture and 500 small stone statues depicting the Gohyaku Rakan or followers of Buddha on the background. Right in the middle of the statues is a small pond, adding to the serenity of the place. Standing in between the gate and the statues are small Jizo figures, who act as a guardian of children. Truly a breathtaking view overall.
