Overlooked by the striking wedge of the ASPAM building and the graceful span of the harbor bridge, the waterfront in Aomori City makes for a very pleasant place to hang out on a warm day. There's a broad promenade from which you can watch ferries gliding in and out, a shady lawn, a cascade with fun little seal statues, and tables and chairs everywhere to sit at with a drink, snack or picnic lunch.
