Yanagino Yashiro Shrine is located at the trailhead to reach Ono Castle in Fukui. At the back of the shrine grounds stand two very old buildings. You can also find a small, pretty Inari Shrine guarded by two tiny fox statues. Although they are old, they appeared to be well-maintained and preserved. There is also a very beautiful main prayer hall in current use nearby. Before walking up the hill to see the castle, I recommend exploring the shrine grounds and paying homage to these old buildings that still stand after so many years!
