Canal City is a unique shopping mall in Fukuoka. As the name suggests, there is a canal that runs through the centre between two shopping blocks. Occasionally there are water fountain shows accompanied by music. In the mall there is a vast range of shops and restaurants that caters for everybody. The mall has both luxury and regular shops. I quite like the unique architecture. The open design of the mall uses the canal as the main focal point. This creates a pleasant open communal space.
