Just down the road from my house and about a 20 minute drive from the edge of Minakami, sits Hodagi Ski resort. Nestled into the northern slopes of Hotakasan, this ski resort has a little something for everyone. At the base are multiple beginner runs perfect for learning or a quick warm up before hitting the more advanced slopes. Multiple lifts access a variety of terrain including black diamond and mogul runs. In the last few years the terrain parks have become a more substantial part of the mountain facilities. The mountain gets plenty of snow and is usually fully open before the Christmas holidays, and stays that way till late March.
