Hotel Mystays Sapporo Nakajima Park

A stylish designer hotel near Nakajimakoen

Hotel Mystays Sapporo Nakajima Park is a stylish designer hotel located right next to Nakajimakoen, a spacious, lush park south of Sapporo station. The designer, Masayuki Kurokawa, has designed the hotel to look beautifully sophisticated in a minimalist way.

Once you step inside, the dark interior design conveys a restful atmosphere. The receptionists are very helpful and courteous. At any one time, at least one of them will have a good command of English to help non-Japanese guests. Near the reception, there is also a display shelf of some art pieces and glass ornaments.

The rooms provided at the hotel are spacious and simply luxurious. From the large windows, you can enjoy the view of Nakajimakoen, which is bustling most times of the year, crowded with children, joggers, and people walking their dogs. The park also looks especially stunning clothed in autumn colors.

The comfortable beds are low and somehow, I felt that it creates a homey atmosphere. The toiletries provided are very well-rounded, designed to pamper fatigued travelers. A LAN cable to connect laptops to the internet is also provided upon request at the counter free-of-charge.

In addition, Hotel Mystays Sapporo Nakajima Park has barrier-free rooms that cater to the handicapped or elderly. The rest of the hotel facilities are also well equipped to attend to handicapped guests.

Other facilities include a luxurious bar, a party room, and a meeting room, making the hotel great for either play or work.

Guests are entitled to a pampering breakfast buffet during their stay at the hotel’s resident restaurant, Restaurant Floraison. The breakfast buffet was definitely one of the biggest pluses of staying here. The breakfast is advertised as a healthy breakfast for busy people and indeed, all of their foods are exceptionally fresh and healthy. It was the first hotel that I have been to that offered salmon and ikura sashimi in a buffet! There was a wide selection of salads and vegetables, as well as various comforting hot foods. The selection of foods is very international.

Getting there

The nearest station to the hotel is Horohira-bashi Station, just 4 stops from Sapporo station. Sights such as the Sapporo Concert Hall and the Hoheikan (a historic building originally built as a hotel in 1880) are all within a short walking distance from the hotel.
