Lavender is the name of the game in the Furano area every July, but the local flower farms offer more than just the fragrant purple plants. At Zerubu Hill, lavender competes for attention with fields of sunflowers and a carpet of multi-hued geraniums, marigolds and other blooms. If your legs are tired from hiking in nearby Daisetsuzan National Park, you can even rent an ATV "buggy" to tour the gardens ... seriously.

Lovely pictures. I imagine the lavender will already be past its peak time in August (when I'll be there)? Well, next time. :-)
