When it snows in Kyoto, there are many beautiful places to enjoy the winter scenery, but not all of them are easy to get to. However you can visit Biwako Canal and Honkokuji quite easily, by taking the train to JR Yamashina Station. The canal is only 10 minutes walk from there. Snow transforms the canal into a winter wonderland.
