Summer in Japan is one of the most exciting times of the year. It is the season of fireworks and Yukata (Casual summer kimonos). celebrated in many cities across Japan. Authentic Japanese culture is on display at these events, for example, traditional folk dance, and Japanese street food. Though the fireworks are the highlight, you should also try sampling the culinary delights from the food stalls. My personal recommendations would be Karaage, (Deep fried chicken) which is famous throughout Oita Prefecture and Kakigori (Shaved ice).

Savor the delights of summer

The Beppu Firework Festival is usually located at either Spa beach (Matogahama koen mae bus stop) or Kamegawa fishing port (Kamegawa eki mae)

The food from food stalls from the festival is delicious. It will definitely be worth the wait !

Yakisoba or Japanese fried noodles is one of my favorite dishes from the food vendors. It is not expensive and it will fill you up.

Fireworks are the highlight of the festival.

Lamune is my favorite drink in summer. It is refreshing and tasty.

Grilled squid with Teriyaki sauce is amazing. Seafood lovers cannot miss this!

The colors of the fireworks are absolutely stunning
