Sunset Beach is located next to the Mihama American Village in Chatan, Okinawa. This easily accessible beach is very popular during the day and has a family friendly netted-in swimming area and with on-duty lifeguards. The beach features large gathering tables, toilet blocks at each end, shower facilities, a kiosk and a bar to ensure an enjoyable day out for everyone.

Like many other beaces on Okinawa the blue water is beautiful and inviting
The beach is wide with a notable lack of coral
On-duty lifeguards and rental day beds & umbrellas starting from ¥1000.
The beach is a subtropical paradise getaway even though it is located within the popular Mihama American Village shopping district

Sunset Beach handles the crowds quite well.
Kiosks provide refreshments at either end of the beach.

It's still very warm beach weather here in Okinawa. The passing typhoon is making the water a bit choppy, though.
