Kikuchi Gorge (Kikuchi Keikoku) is located in Kumamoto Prefecture, between Aso and Kikuchi cities. The valley and gorge are known for their resorts and autumn leaves. Bordered by lovely fir, hemlock, elm, and broadleaf trees, the gorge area is also home to several waterfalls and rapids. It is also a popular place for bird watching with over 50 species to find! Enjoy the cool air and the many walking trails around the gorge. It's also possible to kayak the river and stay at a nearby inn.
