On a corner close to the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art in Shibuya is a small nook of a bookstore called Shelf. Shelf, unlike any other bookstore, is special despite its tiny space. Its specialty is photography books which are mostly acquired outside Japan. Their menu is limited print books, out-of-print documentaries, photo monograph books, fashion design books, magazines, and some art goodies too. They offer an extensive list of published books of renowned classic photographers. If you’d like to browse through their stock list or reserve something, you can check out their website here.
