Kofu and Minami-Kofu on JR-Minobu Line may just be less than 15 minutes and three stops away from each other, yet the two stations are as different as milk and coffee.

Kofu Station is surrounded by commercial establishments and dotted with several people – tourists and locals alike – buzzing in and out of the shops on a regular working day prior to the Ubong Holiday. On the other hand, Minami-Kofu is situated in a semi-suburb residential area surrounded by rice fields, houses and few small and medium-sized establishments.
