If you are strolling around Yokosuka and suddenly feel like trying out either the famous Yokosuka Navy Curry or the equally famous Navy Burger, you will come across the problem of (with all the shops to choose from) which of the two to choose and which establishment to eat at--hopefully one that  will serve up big portions without leaving a hole in your pocket.

Well, you’re in luck! Hungry Boy is centrally located, within walking distance of both the Keikyu Shiori Station (more like right outside this station!) and the JR Yokosuka Station.

So what’s in Hungry Boy?

Hungry Boy has been serving local residents since 1981. Aside from being family friendly, it is also known for being tourist friendly! They have an English menu and most of the staff can speak conversational English!

At Hungry Boy, there is plenty to choose from; aside from the locally famous Navy Burger or the Yokosuka Kaigun Curry, they also offer up pasta selections. The portions are big--I personally call them the Hungry Boy Size!

Did I mention that they offer a combination of the Yokosuka Kaigun Curry and Navy Burger?  On my last visit there, I ordered the Navy Burger + Yokosuka Kaigan Curry Combo ( not the actual name of the set). It comes with salad, New York Cherry Cheesecake and a Hungry Boy size glass of Milk (you can have tea or coffee instead if you like). The curry is not as spicy as other well-known Japanese Curries but take it from me when I say that eating Yokosuka Kaigun Curry with milk will definitely bring out the flavor!! I can’t say the same about the burger though because I had to order another drink just before I got to start on my burger. I sort of personalized my burger with the additional garlic chips and avocado slices. The avocado is not always available, though. Recently, a friend of mine who went there a few days after I did informed me that they didn’t have any avocado slices to go with his burger. For drinks, they have sodas, juices, Japanese and American beer and cocktails.

Just in case you feel like you can’t finish your Hungry Boy size meal, have no fear, you can always request to have it wrapped for a snack later on.
