If you're heading to Seiken-ji temple from the direction of Shimizu station, then just before you get there, you'll come to Zuiun-in, a small, charming Buddhist temple. It's worth stopping off here as a kind of appetizer, to enjoy the calming atmosphere it has, with its serene Buddhist statues, the simple but attractive design of the halls, and the surrounding greenery.
