A springtime night event in Nagoya will transform one of the city's best-known landmarks into a glowing cherry blossom spectacle, blending digital art with sweeping skyline views.
From March 1st to April 30th, 2026, NAKED SAKURA TOWER 2026 will take over the 90-metre indoor observation deck "Sky Deck" at Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER, offering a limited-time night cherry blossom viewing experience that combines projection mapping, seasonal flowers, and immersive light displays.
Produced by creative studio NAKED, INC., the event turns Nagoya's night view pink with digital cherry blossoms cascading across the tower's windows. Visitors can watch petals fall like a waterfall of light against the city skyline, creating a dreamlike atmosphere designed to celebrate the arrival of spring.
The seasonal experience is part of the popular "NAKED FLOWER TOWER" series, which reimagines observation decks across Japan through themed digital art installations. The company has previously staged similar night view experiences at landmarks such as Tokyo Tower, Abeno Harukas, and Sapporo TV Tower, blending local scenery with immersive visuals.
In addition to the cherry blossom projections, visitors will be welcomed by displays of spring flowers including roses, carnations, and tulips. A specially designed lounge space invites guests to experience the season with all five senses, featuring floral aromas and decorative flower installations. Throughout the event period, the tower itself will also be illuminated in cherry blossom pink after sunset until 10:00 pm on selected days.
Located in the heart of Nagoya, the tower opened in 1954 and was the first tower in Japan to be designated an Important Cultural Property. The collaboration highlights the city's reputation for flower production while offering a fresh seasonal attraction for both visitors and locals seeking a relaxing spring outing.
