Fans of Sumikkogurashi will have another reason to visit Fukuoka this summer, with a new character-themed dessert collaboration arriving at Hilton Fukuoka Seahawk from July 4th to August 30th, 2026. First introduced in 2012 by San-X, Sumikkogurashi has become one of Japan’s most recognizable character franchises, known for its shy, slightly quirky cast including Shirokuma, Penguin?, Neko, Tokage, and Tonkatsu.
Please note that the collaboration is only held on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays throughout the event dates.
Following the popularity of last year’s collaboration, Hilton Fukuoka Seahawk is bringing the event back with a new “Starry Sky Stroll” theme. Held at Brasserie & Lounge Ciala on the hotel’s fourth floor, the limited-time buffet series will feature themed sweets, savory dishes, exclusive merchandise, and character-inspired décor.
The “Sumikkogurashi Starry Sky Stroll Sweets Buffet” will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, featuring around 20 sweets and savory dishes inspired by the characters enjoying a sparkling night sky. Highlights include the pastel pink “Starry Sky Cake” with orange jam and chocolate mousse, the cloud-themed white chocolate mousse dessert “Taking a Break Above the Clouds,” and cookies decorated with different Sumikkogurashi character expressions. Savory items like mini meat buns stamped with the characters, burritos, and shrimp cutlet burgers will also be available.
Adult fans can also check out the Saturday evening-only “Starry Sky Stroll Night Buffet,” an over-20s experience pairing themed desserts with Ciala’s dinner buffet and a Milky Way-inspired welcome drink.
Guests at both events will receive exclusive Hilton Fukuoka Seahawk stickers, while select plans also include limited-edition clear files or travel pouches themed around the collaboration.
The sweets buffet runs from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, with prices starting from 5,000 JPY for adults. The night buffet is held Saturdays from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm and costs 7,200 JPY per person. Reservations are available through the hotel’s official website.
