Visual Gastronomy 2020

An art exhibition inspired by food in Hokkaido

Venue: Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art When: Sep 19th - Nov 8th 2020

Food is a source of nourishment, of connection, and even artistic inspiration in many cases, and a special exhibition taking place at the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art focuses on this. "Visual Gastronomy" runs until November 8th 2020, and introduces a variety of artworks which have food as the central theme.

Whilst numerous works focus on the food itself, there are also pieces that depict the communal gatherings that mealtimes present, the items that foods are prepared and served on, and the processes that go into gathering food.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 510 yen.

Getting there

Via Public Transport:

The Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art is located approximately four minutes on foot from Nishijuhatchome Station, served by the Tozai subway line.

Via Private Vehicle:

As there is no dedicated parking lot available at the museum, taking public transportation is advised, however there are paid parking lots in the surrounding streets.
