Hydrangea Season Along the Rokko Cable Line

Enjoy the color of around 2000 flowers in bloom

Hydrangeas are a favorite flower for many, but since they seemed to bloom quite early this year many locations are past their peak. That's not the case at the Rokko Cable Line, though! Located on Kobe's Mount Rokko, the higher altitude here means that hydrangea season stretches from mid-June to mid-July, which is significantly later than other parts of the region. There are approximately 2000 hydrangeas to appreciate along the route that connects Shimo Station (elevation 244 meters) and Yamagami Station (elevation 737 meters).

The one-way fare for the cable line is 600 yen for adults, and 300 yen for children aged 6 to 11 years. Departures take place between the two stations around every 20 minutes, starting at 7.10 am and ending at 9.10 pm.

Getting there

To reach the Rokko Cable Line, take Kobe City Bus number 16 or 106 from JR Rokkomichi Station. The travel time is approximately 20 minutes.
