There is a tiny business hotel just in front of JR Funaoka Station. Hotel Harada in Sakura is a business hotel that becomes the tourist base in spring when Shibata Town Sakura Festival takes place. Lines of 1000 cherry trees decorate the Shiroishi River bank for miles, and people come to this town to admire their beauty. I visited this hotel on New Year's Eve to take a break in the cafe, and was surprised to find that the whole place was impeccably clean, and was charmingly decorated for New Year. The hotel staff were friendly, and were truly nice and kind when I was taking many photos of the place. The price is around 6,000 yen for a single room.
