Kamikōchi in Matsumoto city, Nagano prefecture has to be one of the most beautiful places in Japan. It offers magnificent views of the Hotaka mountain range, and is also the gateway to the Japanese Alps. One can either take a day hike through this natural beauty, or even do a 3-day mountain hike for those feeling a little more adventurous. Either way, the views here will tug on the heartstrings of visitors. The photos here show some of the views on offer, even if it does little justice to the boundless beauty that is Kamikōchi.
