Nikko Chuzen-ji Lake in Autumn

Chuzen-ji Lake in autumn is brilliantly colored with red, orange, and yellow. Especially in the morning, the light changes minute by minute, and fascinating views develop. We drove from the lakeside of Chuzen-ji Lake and went up to Mt. Hangetsu-san in late October. Although it was before 7:00 AM, the parking lot was almost full, and people were waiting to see the fantastic scene when the sun comes out from behind the clouds. With them, we waited for the moment. We were not disappointed! Buses run from Chuzen-ji Onsen Terminal to Hangetsu-san from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, once every hour.
