Bernard Buffet (1928 - 1999) was a French expressionist painter who had a specific focus on concrete art. The term concrete art refers to a style of painting which is characterized by geometric abstraction and sharp, black lines. A special event at Tokyo's Bunkamura Art Center looks into Buffet's works, and will have around 80 pieces on display.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 1600 yen.
The Bunkamura Art Center is located approximately 7 minutes on foot from Shibuya Station's Hachiko Exit. The station is served by multiple lines, including the JR Yamanote Line, the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Hanzomon, and Fukutoshin lines, and the Keio Inokashira line to name a few.
There is no dedicated on-site parking available for those who plan to drive, however the museum recommends the nearby Tokyu Honten Underground Carpark if you are traveling by car. Parking is charged at ¥300 per 30 minutes on weekdays, and ¥400 per 30 minutes on weekends. No discounts or parking validation is provided from the museum.
