Ghibli Expo at Roppongi Hills 2016

From 'Nausicaä' to 'The Red Turtle'

When
Jul 7th - Sep 11th 2016

Coming to Roppongi Hills this summer, The Ghibli Expo will be held from July 7th until September 11th and will be a must-see for Studio Ghibli fans covering the full spectrum of Ghibli releases from 1984's 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind' to this year's 'The Red Turtle'. Celebrating the past 30 years of the legendary animation studio's much-loved classics, including 'My Neighbour Totoro' and 'Spirited Away', visitors will get the chance to see behind the production process, including previously unreleased production materials and footage.

Tokyo City View is Roppongi Hill's observation deck up on the 52nd floor and will allow visitors to be mesmerised by panoramic views of Tokyo alongside the nostalgic journey through Studio Ghibli's history.

Timed to build anticipation for the studio's latest co-production, The Red Turtle (scheduled for release in Japan on September 17th 2016), visitors will have the chance to re-live the studio's soaring popularity over the years, witness previously unseen production materials and see original promotional materials and artworks published alongside each film's original run.

The Tokyo launch of this expo (after previous successful runs in Aichi and Niigata) will also see two new exhibitions launching for the very first time: a ' Flying Plane' exhibition and an exclusive 'Red Turtle' exhibition.

Ghibli fans won't want to miss the chance to get limited edition merchandise, exclusive to this expo event, as well a wide range of classic souvenirs from the full Ghibli product range.

Thank you for the information. Some photos would be helpful as the entrance fee is rather high!
