Adachi Ward in Tokyo invites visitors to celebrate the beauty of early summer at the Iris Festival and Global Food Square, taking place in early June. Held across two vibrant locations—Shobu Numa Park and Higashi-Ayase Park (Hato Square)—this lively event combines the elegance of blooming irises with the excitement of international cuisine and community festivities.

Shobu Numa Park, just steps from Kita-Ayase Station, is one of Tokyo’s top spots for viewing irises, boasting around 140 varieties. During the event, visitors can stroll along a special boardwalk set up within the flower fields, offering close-up views of the vibrant blooms. On both festival days, the park will host musical performances, a mobile petting zoo, local vendor stalls, and guided iris tours—making it a great destination for both families and flower lovers.

Just one stop away, Higashi-Ayase Park in front of Ayase Station will be transformed into the Global Food Square, where guests can enjoy authentic dishes from around 25 countries. From Turkish doner kebabs and American jambalaya to Chinese xiaolongbao, there’s something for every palate. A wide selection of international beers and wines will also be available.

Adding to the fun is a 2-kilometer stamp rally connecting the two venues. Participants who collect all four stamps along the scenic, waterside route will receive a prize (while supplies last). Along the way, visitors can stop by educational booths, such as an environmental awareness corner and a Tokyo Metro station photo spot for kids.

Admission is free, and both venues are easily accessible via the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. For more information, visit the Adachi Ward Tourism Association website.
