From September 9th until October 11th, Jiyugaoka's IDÉE Gallery will host an exhibition of works from ceramic artist Kaori Tatebayashi. Born in the pottery heartland of Arita in Saga Prefecture, Tatebayashi comes from a line of ceramics traders — her grandfather specifically was an Arita-ware merchant who took orders from hotels and restaurants all over Japan.
Since 2001 she has based herself in London, and has become known for her extremely lifelike unglazed ceramic pieces This exhibition will showcase 26 of her intricate works (with an A to Z theme!) for visitors to enjoy.
