Shibuya will close out the summer with a celebration that blends tradition and modern culture at the Shibuya Miyashita Park Bon Dance. Held in late September at Miyashita Park’s Lawn Square, the event offers a free and open space for visitors to experience Bon Odori alongside dance music, live performances, food, and fashion.

Now in its third year, the festival highlights Shibuya’s unique character while preserving the community feel of Japan’s traditional summer dances. Attendees can join in the circle of Bon Odori, enjoy DJ sets and live acts from names like Houchou Minari, Koenji Asuka Ren, and KAMOSU, and discover how age-old movements meet contemporary rhythms.

The celebration extends well beyond the stage, too. Food stalls and restaurants will serve everything from tacos and pizza to gin cocktails and shaved strawberries, while the Festival Market will showcase Shibuya-inspired goods, records, capsule toys, and nostalgic festival games. A dedicated Craft Park area will also highlight Japanese craft sake, wine, and artisanal treats.

Organizers hope the event will deepen ties among local businesses while attracting visitors from across Japan and abroad. Guests can also look forward to meal voucher giveaways and a special Instagram campaign with prizes.

Admission is free, and access is convenient with just a short walk from Shibuya Station. For updates, visit the official site or follow @miyashitapark_bon_dance on Instagram.
