A special exhibition taking place at the Okura Museum of Art looks at the world of paper decoration and its history in Japan. Various paper-making techniques will be explored, including the patterened paper of the Kokin Wakashū which has been designated as a National Treasure.

The exhibition will also have several special lectures held by the museum's curator (April 20th, May 11th, and June 1st from 2 pm), and a multi-course luncheon event at The Okura Tokyo's banquet hall (May 7th, 10,000 yen per head). The luncheon will also include a talk from the museum's curator. The lectures don't require any advance bookings, but if you do want to attend the luncheon please visit the official site for details on how to reserve your place.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen.

Getting there

The Okura Museum of Art is located 5 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station, served by the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, or 7 minutes on foot from Exit 4B of Kamiyacho Station, served by the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

For those who plan to drive to the museum, do note that there's no dedicated parking lot. As a result, public transportation is advised whenever possible.
