Maizurujo Park offers a splendid look-out over the area near Kofu JR Station. The highest point of the park is the Tenshudai, where the highest tower of Kofu Castle was once located. Not only can you see a great view of the cast ruins with its reconstructed Inari Yagura Tower and Yamanote Gomon gate, but you can see terrace vineyards on Mount Atago and the spire of one of Chozen-ji's pagodas. If the weather is clear you can also see Mount Fuji from here, and in spring the park is full of cherry blossoms.

Looking towards Kofu Station
Tenshudai is the highest point in the park. A watchtower once stood there.
The rebuilt Inari Yagura Tower
Looking down on Maizuru-jo Park.
You can see the terraced vineyards on Mount Atago, and just make out one of the pagodas at Chozen-ji
A tall monument stands in the park near the reconstructed Yamanote Gomon gate
It was definitely an umbrella day!
I felt strange standing among the ruins of a hilltop castle and looking over a normal modern city
A section of the moat still exists in this direction
Another side of the park, enclosed in long white walls
JR Chuo line runs along this side of the castle.
Looking over the Honmaru enclosure toward Chozen-ji. Can you see the pagoda?
