Just in time for the summer comes NoMad Grill Lounge's Tokyo Beer Garden in Akasaka.

Boasting the largest rooftop bar in Tokyo, NoMad has opened the doors to the only getaway you'll need this summer, promising a memorable al fresco experience for all alongside premium steaks at Akasaka's Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho complex.

This social space comes across as one of the top spots for Tokyo's adults to mingle, coming alive each evening with the venue's rooftop bar providing a microcosmic view of Tokyo's skyline charms – skyscrapers, dazzling lights and non-stop traffic zipping by along the elevated expressway. Promising to be a communication hub for the city, the premium meat on the menu and free-flowing drinks thanks to several new special beer garden dining plans help guarantee a summer to remember.

The steak served at NoMad Grill is uncompromising in quality, including several varieties of Japanese domestic beef (such as Wagyu, Tankakugyu, Akaushi and F1) in a variety of cuts, such as T-bone, L-bone and Porterhouse. The meat here is specially aged in NoMad's purpose-built meat cellar, before being cooked to perfection on a grill that can reach up to 900 degrees, searing the meat and locking in maximum flavour in the process.

Thanks to NoMad's various farm-to-table direct partnerships, heaps of fresh seafood and seasonal vegetable options round out the menu, meaning there's something for everyone.

Guests opting for the beer garden terrace experience can opt for one of two plans:

  • The Terrace Plan (¥6,600) includes Garden Mixed Green Salad, an hors d'oeuvre platter including pâté de campagne with Matsusaka and Yonezawa pork, Prime Bavette steak and grilled chicken thighs, plus dessert.
  • The Premium Rooftop Lounge Plan (¥11,000) includes the daily Amuse bouche, Garden Salad, hors d'oeuvre platter including pâté de campagne with Matsusaka and Yonezawa pork, aged half L-bone steak, Prime Bavette steak and grilled farm vegetable platter, plus the dessert of the day.

Drinks include a glass of Freixenet X sparkling wine to start, then free choice from a menu of draft beer (Premium Malt's), white wine sangria, white/red wine and soft drinks. If you're feeling adventurous, why not try one of their original cocktails, such as the NoMad Sour, made with Suntory's ROKU gin, fresh lemon, soda and NoMad's original vinegar?

Both plans include a 90 minute all-you-can-drink period, for total bookings lasting up to 2 hr 30 mins supporting groups from 2 to 20 people. Whether it be a romantic date or larger gathering, the several styles of seating—from counter-style tables to intimate sofas—help match the mood for any occasion.

The gin photo looks like the restaurant is located in Europe. I'm fascinated by the background.
