The highly popular manga Kaiju No. 8 quickly became one of Shonen Jump+'s flagship titles since its debut in 2020, and a special exhibition about the series is making its way to Nagoya from early March to early April following successful runs in Tokyo and Osaka.
Kaiju No. 8 is a manga set in a world where giant, monstrous creatures known as "kaiju" constantly threaten humanity. The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old man who dreams of joining an elite Japanese defense force that fights these monsters. However, Kafka’s life takes an unexpected turn when he ingests a parasitic creature and gains the ability to transform into a kaiju himself.
The Kaiju No. 8 exhibition offers visitors an immersive experience into the world of the manga, featuring 120 framed illustrations that highlight pivotal moments from the series. One standout section, "One Hundred Monster Scenes," explores the myriad of ways in which monsters are integrated into everyday life within the Kaiju No. 8 universe.
Alongside the impressive array of illustrations, visitors can interact with life-sized replicas of the defense force’s equipment and weapons, allowing them to step into the shoes of the characters they’ve admired in the manga.
