A blend of traditional Japanese styled rooms and antique themed Western furnishings, Ex cafe - also known as Ickx cafe - in Arayashima is a pleasant cafe to enjoy delicious Japanese desserts to beat the Kyoto heat. A several minute walk from Arayashima station, Ex is a large space located down an alley on the left hand side from the station that is visible from the main road leading to Togetsukyo bridge. Serving up a variety of Japanese desserts, Ex is a top spot for those trekking through Arashiyama with a sweet tooth.

I went to Arashiyama but I missed this cafe. Will check it out if I get a chance to go back.

I've been here! I wish I'd tried the mango kakigouri. It looks fantastic! I think I just had coffee and cake, although both were excellent.
